Emotional endurance is an athlete’s ability to regulate their emotions so they can adapt to, and overcome challenging situations. Acupuncture can stimulate the release of endorphins and other neurotransmitters to improve mood and reduce feelings of stress and anxiety while also helping to regulate the nervous system and promote relaxation.

Endurance sports, such as long-distance running, cycling, or triathlons, can make it particularly challenging to maintain focus, motivation, and mental resilience over an extended period of time. Integrating acupuncture into an athlete’s wellness protocol can not only be used to treat and prevent physical pain, it can also be use to improve athletic performance by restoring balance to physio-emotional systems.

In recent years, there has been growing interest in the use of acupuncture in sports medicine for good reason. For our athletes and coaches, acupuncture  promotes whole-person wellness by improving athletic performance across multiple dimensions, but particularly by reducing stress and anxiety, enhancing mental focus, and promoting emotional balance.

Improve Emotional Endurance with Acupuncture

In Our Patients’ Own Words

Stress and anxiety have always been a struggle for me. Running has always helped me calm my mind and relax. I started running half marathons and have really enjoyed it. My problem is that during competitions I end up feeling overwhelmed and it is exhausting. I came to Dynamic Flow Acupuncture to see if they could help with this as I had a big race in 4 weeks. I love competing but want to feel as good as I do during training. I started treatments and started noticing small changes in my daily life within a week. Stress became more manageable even if I couldn’t get a training session in. I was even more excited that the race went amazing! I ran a personal best and even more important I felt great during and after the race. I’ve continued to do maintenance treatments about once a month after the initial treatment plan. I also discovered that a treatment or two right before a competition helps really make the race go smooth.

Sarah and her office is excellent. I’ve been to other acupuncturists and Sarah has been the only one who has produced positive results. Very kind, friendly and positive office experience…I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to everyone!”
